Brazil’s northern logistics corridor is advancing as the Port of Santana, in Amapá, expands international routes and prepares to auction a new terminal to boost capacity. Operated by CDSA, the port has launched a direct shipping route to Gaolan Port in Zhuhai, China, cutting transit times by up to 30 days and reducing reliance on southern ports. An R$80 million investment in a new shiploader has improved efficiency, contributing to a 13.5% rise in cargo throughput in 2025. The upcoming MCP 01 terminal auction, scheduled for Feb. 26, will add capacity for wood chips and vegetable bulk exports. Strategically located near the Panama Canal, Santana is positioning itself as an international logistics hub with lower costs and faster access to global markets.
