The Port of Pecém closed 2025 consolidated as one of Brazil’s main export hubs for ornamental stones. With 77.48 thousand tonnes handled through October and a projection of reaching 90 thousand tonnes by year-end, the terminal recorded the highest annual volume in its history, boosting Ceará’s mining sector and strengthening the state’s position in the international market. 24.2 thousand tonnes were handled in 2018, while the previous record was set in 2022, with 68.3 thousand tonnes. In addition to Italy, the leading destination for the stones (55% of the total), countries such as China, the United States, Turkey, and Mexico are part of the international route for natural stones. These operations are carried out by Tecer Terminais, one of the Port of Pecém’s operational service providers.
