BRAZIL’S OFF-SEASON CORN HARVEST KICKS OFF IN MATO GROSSO AND PARANA, SAYS AGRURAL

According to AgRural, the off-season corn harvest has begun in parts of Mato Grosso and Paraná but remains at 0.9% completion in the Center-South – below last year’s 2% for the same period (as of May 22). The mid-north and western areas in Mato Grosso lead progress, while delays in late planting have slowed other regions. In the west and central-west parts of Paraná, the harvest is progressing. Harvesting is advancing in Parana’s west and central-west, but most other states have yet to begin or will ramp up in June.
