BRAZIL’S FEBRUARY ETHANOL OUTPUT HITS 1.7 MILLION TONS FROM CORN

DATAGRO reports that the ethanol sector consumed 1.7 million tons of corn in February, the highest monthly total ever recorded. Indicating significant demand, this consumption surpassed in January by 41% and beyond the historical norm by 76%. A 21.8% increase over the previous cycle, 21.76 million tons of corn are scheduled to be used for ethanol manufacture for the February cycle. The 572 thousand tons of DDG, an ethanol byproduct, produced in the month were 2.5% less than in January but 41% greater than in the same period in 2024. Already at 5.64 million tons, DDG output for the crop 2024-25 is up 31% over the last one.
