Sugar production in Brazil’s Center-South is projected to reach 43.3 million tons in 2025/26, an 8.5% increase from 2024/25, driven by higher raw material availability and more sugarcane directed to sugar production, according to Hedgepoint Global Markets. However, poor sugarcane conditions in 2024 may limit growth, preventing a return to the 2023/24 record levels. The expected sugarcane yield is 82 tons per hectare, totaling 630 million tons for 2025/26, up from 617.7 million tons in 2024/25. Sugar exports are also expected to rise, reaching 34.3 million tons in 2025/26, compared to 31.5 million tons in 2024/25.
