On Wednesday, May 7, Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) approved the concession auction for terminal VCD29 at the Port of Vila do Conde, in the state of Pará. The project involves an investment of BRL 908.5 million to upgrade and expand the terminal, primarily to handle soybean and corn shipments. This concession is part of the federal government’s strategy to boost logistics capacity and the competitiveness of Brazilian ports, particularly in the Northern region, which is becoming increasingly important for agricultural exports. The TCU’s approval is the final step before the auction notice is published and the bidding process begins, expected to attract interest from logistics and agribusiness investors.
