Brazil’s agricultural production reached a record-breaking BRL 743.3 billion in 2021, an increase of 58.6% over the previous year. The country’s planted area totaled 86.7 million hectares, an increase of 3.3 million hectares, up 3.9% from 2020. Soybean, corn, sugarcane, coffee, and cotton were the top five products in the production value ranking. Other production increases come from wheat, which hit a record, and rice. Brazi1’s state with the highest production value was Mato Grosso, the country’s largest producer of soybeans, corn, and cotton. In 2021, Mato Grosso’s production generated BRL 151.7 billion, an increase of 91.5%, which represents 20.4% of the total country’s agricultural production value.
