Cargo movement through Brazilian ports exceeded the 113.2 million mark in May 2023. The 10.43% growth from May 2022 was driven by rising Iron Ore and Soybean operations, with 34.14 million and 19,18 million tonnes handled, respectively, and 15.34% and 43.02% in percentage terms. Crude oil was Brazil’s third most handled commodity in Brazilian ports, with 17.54 million tonnes recorded, an 11.69% increase from last year. Private Use Terminals (TUPs) in Brazil were responsible for the movement of 72.74 million tonnes of goods in May 2023, an increase of 10.11% compared to the same period last year. Public ports moved 40.5 million tonnes in cargo during May, an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year.
