BRAZILIAN GOV’T KEEN TO PRIVATIZE PORT OF SÃO SEBASTIÃO, INFORMS SECRETARY

João Octaviano Neto, the state secretary of transportation in São Paulo, stated in an interview with the SP RIO+ portal on August 10th that the Federal Government wishes to privatize the Port of São Sebastião. Despite being a federal port, it is managed by Companhia Docas de São Sebastião, subordinated to the transportation department of the government of São Paulo. In addition to the privatization of the Port of São Sebastião, the secretary stated that the space requires a R$ 1 billion investment to build two berths and a new rail line.
