BRAZILIAN AGRIBUSINESS LAUNCHED 15 NEW MARKETS IN 10 COUNTRIES IN MAY

According to Mapa, May 2024 saw the highest historical performance in new trade agreements for Brazilian agricultural goods, with 15 new markets in 10 countries. This result beats the previous record, achieved in May 2020, by eight openings. Forty-six new markets have opened in 27 nations so far this year, including fish, poultry, and pork. Since President Lula’s third term began, 124 new marketplaces have opened in 51 nations. Agribusiness accounted for 49.3% of Brazilian exports in the first four months of 2024, totaling USD 52.39 billion, a 3.7% increase over the same period the previous year.
