Brazil’s sugar and molasses exports started February on strong footing, with average daily shipments in the first ten business days running 44% above February 2025 levels, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (Secex). Daily volumes rose from 91,257.5 tonnes in February 2025 to 131,384.7 tonnes in early February 2026, totaling 1.31 million tonnes so far. Despite the surge in volume, average prices fell 22.6% year over year, from USD 477.8 to USD 370.1 per tonne. Even under price pressure, higher volumes lifted daily export revenue by 11.5% to USD 48.6 million, with cumulative revenue reaching USD 486.2 million in the first ten business days. In 2025, Brazil exported more than 31 million tonnes of sugar, underscoring its continued strength in global markets.
