According to Conab, Brazil’s grain output reached a record 350.2 million tons in the 2024-25 harvest, a 16.3% increase over the previous cycle. This rise of 49.1 million tons was largely driven by soybeans, corn, rice, and cotton. A 1.9-million-hectare expansion in cultivated area, along with favorable weather, especially in the Midwest, boosted the national average yield by 13.7% to 4,284 kg per hectare. Soybeans led with 171.5 million tons (+20.2 million), followed by corn with 139.7 million (+20.9%), all at record highs. Cotton reached 4.1 million tons (+9.7%), while rice totaled 12.8 million (+20.6%). Wheat, on the other hand, is expected to decline by 4.5%, to 7.5 million tons.
