The Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) expects to auction Tecon Santos 10 in early March, after approval from Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts. A January roadshow with embassies and companies will precede the tender publication. The project foresees R$6.4 billion in investments, expanding the Port of Santos’ container-handling capacity by 50% and creating 2,500 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs. The 621,000 m² terminal will handle containers and general cargo, raising the port’s capacity to 9 million units per year. The auction will feature a new concession-fee model with a minimum bid to balance competitiveness and government revenue. The 25-year concession will go to the bidder offering the highest fee, and authorities expect broad domestic and international participation in what could be the port sector’s most competitive auction.
