BRAZIL PLANTS 34.4% OF 2025/26 SOYBEAN AREA AND 40% OF SUMMER CORN, CONAB REPORTS

According to Conab, Brazil’s 2025/26 planting season is progressing, with 34.4% of the soybean area sown by October 25—up 13.3 percentage points from the previous week but lagging 3.3 points behind last year and 8.1 below the five-year average. Mato Grosso leads with 72.7% planted. Summer corn reached 40% of the expected area, 3.2 points ahead of last season and slightly above the five-year average, led by Paraná (91.6%). Rice covers 46% of its area, beans 23.9%, and wheat harvesting has reached 43.3%, still behind 2024’s pace.
