BRAZIL INCREASES EXPORTS OF DISTILLERS GRAINS TO NEW ZEALAND

Distillers’ dried grains (DDG), a by-product of ethanol production, are increasingly popular among New Zealand dairy farmers, making up about 5% of animal feed imports. Andrea Verissimo, from the Brazilian Association of Corn Ethanol Producers, highlighted Brazil’s commitment to boosting corn production in Mato Grosso, with forecasts of doubling output over the next decade. Brazil aims to expand DDG exports to New Zealand. Journalists observed Brazil’s ethanol production process, emphasizing Mato Grosso’s role as a leading agricultural state. Brazil, the world’s second-largest ethanol producer, has recently expanded into corn ethanol since 2017, building on its sugarcane ethanol legacy.
