Brazil recorded stronger trade performance with China in January 2026, as exports rose 17.4% year-on-year to $6.47 billion, up from $5.51 billion in the same month of 2025. Meanwhile, imports from China declined 4.9%, totaling $5.75 billion compared with $6.05 billion a year earlier. The combined movement resulted in a $720 million trade surplus for Brazil in the first month of the year. The figures were released by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), highlighting a positive start to bilateral trade in 2026.
