Brazilian port cargo movement accelerated in October, reaching 121.5 million tonnes—9.8% above October 2024—and totaling 1.16 billion tonnes from January to October, up 4% year-on-year, according to MPor and Antaq. Containerized cargo drove the growth, rising 11.6% in October and hitting its highest monthly volume on record, with DataLiner data showing consistent expansion in exports and imports since 2022. Minister Silvio Costa Filho said Brazil is on track to surpass its 2022 record by at least 150 million tonnes, citing improved economic conditions and investor confidence. From January to October, foreign trade cargo exceeded 830 million tonnes (+3.8%), cabotage reached 190.8 million tonnes, and inland waterway transport 115.4 million tonnes. Containers grew 5.3% in the period, while solid bulk led with 692.8 million tonnes. The data confirm a more efficient and integrated logistics system supporting Brazil’s expanding production chains.
