BRAZIL DOMINATES THE ORANGE JUICE MARKET

Brazil produces 79% of the world’s orange juice, according to data from the National Association of Citrus Juice Exporters (CitrusBR), with 800,000 hectares of orange tree cultivation. In other words, almost four out of every five cups consumed worldwide are manufactured in Brazil. Brazil is the top country in the world for orange juice exports. The state of Sao Paulo shipped USD 682 million worth of juice in the first four months of the year, with orange juice making up 97.3% of that total, according to the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA-APTA). Exports are already up 21.2% from this time last year. The European Union (74%) and North America (26%) stand out among the purchase markets.
