BRAZIL CORN EXPORTS SURGE, CEMENTING GLOBAL LEAD AMID U.S. CROP SHORTFALL

Brazil is strengthening its position as the world’s top corn exporter, having shipped 56 million tons in the 2022/23 season—a 29% increase from the previous cycle—according to Rabobank’s Agroinfo. This growth was driven by a poor U.S. harvest and Brazil’s strong second crop, the safrinha. Although exports are projected to dip to 45–50 million tons in 2023/24 due to a smaller harvest, Brazil is expected to maintain its lead. Improved infrastructure and logistics have made Brazilian corn more competitive globally, surpassing the U.S. and positioning Brazil as a reliable long-term supplier in international markets
