Brazil accelerated corn exports in November, shipping 2.67 million tonnes in the first ten business days—56% of the total exported in all of November 2024. Daily volumes rose 7.6% year over year, while revenue reached US$ 585.9 million and average prices increased to US$ 219/tonne. Despite the strong pace, analyst Ronaldo Fernandes says abundant domestic supply, high inventories and competition from a large U.S. crop limit price gains. Recent trade deals also push several countries to buy American corn. Still, Brazil is expanding sales in alternative markets like Iran and Egypt, where political tensions with the U.S. increase demand for Brazilian grain. Analysts expect 2025 to end with stable global prices despite solid Brazilian shipments.
