BRAZIL BREAKS MARKET OPENING RECORD, YET TRADE AGREEMENTS POSE CHALLENGES

Brazil has already eclipsed the amount of international market openings recorded in 2023 by August 2024, with 91 new agricultural markets. However, trade agreements face hurdles due to various restrictions including tariffs, technology, environment, and ethics. Roberto Perosa, MAPA’s Secretary of Trade and International Relations, expressed optimism about the forthcoming opening of a new market for chicken meat and the Mercosur-European Union accord.
