BRAZIL AND CHINA SIGN AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING NEW ROUTE BETWEEN RIVER PORTS IN AMAPÁ

On Monday, Brazil and China launched a direct maritime route for transporting biofertilizers, connecting the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau to the Port of Santana in Amapá. The agreement, signed between Santana Port Authority and Zhuhai’s Economic Development Zone, reduces travel time by up to 14 days and boosts economic growth in northern Brazil. Brazil’s Minister Waldez Góes and Chinese officials noted that this route will strengthen trade and foster sustainable growth. Besides biofertilizers, the plan includes expanding exports of agricultural raw materials to China, generating jobs and income in Santana. Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture has already tested biofertilizers, and the Federal Rural University of Amazonia is involved in a technology transfer project with China.
