The biodiesel industry achieved a new high in 2023, with 7.34 billion liters of biodiesel distributed to retailers, representing an almost 20% increase from 2022. The switch to a B12 blend did not startle the industry, which was well prepared to meet the demand for B15. The presence of biodiesel in the diesel cycle matrix has prevented the emission of 4.4 million tons of CO2 equivalent, so contributing to decarbonization targets. The industry is celebrating and aiming to shift to B20.
