ARCO NORTE PORTS HANDLE 40% OF BRAZIL’S CORN AND SOY EXPORTS

Ports in Brazil’s Arco Norte region contributed 40% of the country’s corn and soy exports and 32.6% of total exports from January to August 2024, per ANTAQ’s report. Flávio Acatauassú, Executive Director of AMPORT, highlighted the decade-long growth and natural advantages of the region, citing competitive logistics and sustainability efforts. Itacoatiara and Itaqui showed significant export volumes. Bulk cargo is pivotal due to proximity to agricultural hubs, with current capacity at 52 million tonnes and plans to expand to 100 million tonnes over five years to meet rising demand.
