APS BIDS TO DEEPEN THE PORT OF SANTOS TO 16 METERS

The Port Authority of Santos (APS) has initiated a bidding process to increase the port’s navigation channel depth from 15 to 16 meters, enhancing its ability to handle larger ships and boost overall capacity. This project encompasses dredging operations and two years of maintenance, serving as the initial phase of a long-term plan to eventually reach 17 meters depth under a 25-year concession. The bidding covers everything from environmental licensing to project execution and dredging. The last work of this kind was completed 13 years ago, and the present intervention aims to adapt the port to the evolution of ships and strengthen the infrastructure for international trade. The proposal opening is scheduled for September 26.
