AMAZONIAN PORTS REPORT RECORD GRAIN EXPORTS IN 2023, CONTINUED GROWTH IN 2024

In 2023, Amazonian ports saw a 22% increase in grain exports, totaling 51 million tons. In early 2024, 46 million tons of iron ore, 13 million tons of soybeans, and 2 million tons of corn were exported. A key initiative by AMPORT, the Quiriri Canal monitoring project, increased the draft to 13.90 meters, enhancing cargo efficiency. This was achieved with climate-tidal monitoring stations, costing R$6 million, installed by several companies. The MV Harvest Frost set a soybean export record in 2022. Innovations like the automatic monitoring system and Floating Transshipment Stations have boosted the sector.
