Alagoas mills allotted almost 14.1 million tons of sugarcane for the 2024-25 harvest, producing about 1.6 million tons of VHP, crystal, and refined types, according to a Sindaçúcar-AL bulletin. Between August 26, 2024, and March 15, 2025, total crushing reached 17.2 million tons, with more than 3 million used to produce approximately 400 million liters of ethanol. Independent producers contributed more than 7 million tons to the total processed.
