AGRIBUSINESS GDP CLOSES 2024 WITH A 1,81% INCREASE

Brazilian agribusiness GDP grew 4.48% in Q4 2024 and 1.81% for the year, reaching R$2.72 trillion and representing 23.2% of the country’s total GDP, according to CNA. Growth was mainly driven by agroindustry and agroservices, which rose 3.25% and 2.94% respectively. Livestock stood out, with a 12.48% increase, especially in agroservices (16.79%) and agroindustry (16.78%). Meanwhile, the agricultural sector declined due to drops in inputs (6.97%) and primary production (3.54%). Despite these setbacks, the fourth quarter showed broad improvement across the production chain, with agriculture up 2.02% from the previous quarter. The rise in production value and real prices helped the sector recover from a weaker start to 2024. The annual result was close to the CNA’s forecast of 2% growth.
