AÇU PORT OPENS DEDICATED GRAIN STORAGE FACILITIES

On July 4th, Açu Port in northern Rio de Janeiro inaugurated two grain-specific warehouses, enhancing agribusiness logistics. Minas Port invested R$104 million in these facilities, which can store 70,000 tons. This 20-year agreement aims to increase operational efficiency and attract agribusiness clients. The port, previously handling mixed cargo, expects these warehouses to boost grain operations before a planned railway connection is established. Currently, logistics rely on highways, with plans to further expand capacity and construct a grain ship unit. The multi-cargo terminal handled 2.1 million tonnes in 2023, aiming for 5 million. Minas Port will also distribute fertilizers and mineral coal, with future plans to invest R$200 million in a fertilizer mixer.
