AÇU PORT LAUNCH EXPANSION WITH NEW WAREHOUSE SPACE

Açu Port and Minas Port have announced an expansion project, inaugurating two cargo storage warehouses on July 4th. Each warehouse covers 6,345 square meters, with a combined capacity of 70 tons. An adjacent yard, measuring 11,000 square meters and holding up to 65 tons, also opened. Automated cargo processes will enhance efficiency and productivity, boosting annual cargo throughput by over 500 tons. The expansion meets growing demand and positions Porto do Açu as a strategic hub for transporting goods from Goiás and Minas Gerais. The port also plays a key role in importing fertilizers and coal. Additionally, Porto do Açu will decommission oil platforms, starting with P-33, marking Brazil’s first Sustainable Decommissioning Hub, impacting the regional economy positively.
