Mato Grosso’s ethanol output increased by 17.09% in the 2024-25 harvest, reaching 6.70 billion liters, making it Brazil’s second largest producer after São Paulo. Corn-based ethanol output increased by 23.77%, hitting 5.62 million m³, the most significant advance among the top five producing states. Co-product generation also expanded, strengthening the industrial chain and supporting energy transition and livestock feed. For 2025-26, corn ethanol production is expected to reach 5.98 million m³, potentially surpassing 7 billion liters.
