According to AgRural, the harvest of the 2024-25 soybean crop in Brazil reached 87% of the cultivated area by April 3, beating the previous week’s 82% and the previous harvest’s 78%. The primary focus now is Rio Grande do Sul, where the drought still affects output, while the north and northeast areas are almost finished. Off-season corn, on the other hand, benefited from recent rains in the center-south, which helped to mitigate losses sustained by the dry weather in March, while there are areas in desperate need of further moisture – with the exception of Mato Grosso, where the weather remains favorable. The summer corn harvest in the Center-South reached 88%, compared to 82% the previous week and 85% the same time last year.
