NEW CONTAINER HANDLING RECORD SET AT PORTONAVE: 6,180 CONTAINERS IN 42 HOURS

Portonave set a container handling record during the call of the CMA CGM Bahia, handling 6,180 boxes in 42 hours—the highest volume ever recorded on a single vessel in the terminal’s history. Average vessel productivity stood at 149 container moves per hour (MPH). The Bahia vessel is part of the fleet of French carrier CMA CGM and operates on the SEAS2 service, which links Asia to the east coast of South America, calling at ports along the Brazilian coast as well as Colombo (Sri Lanka), Tianjin, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Singapore and Hong Kong. Cargo handled on the service includes products such as tires, textiles, electronics and plastics, among others.
