The Port of Imbituba recorded strong growth from January to October 2025, handling 6.17 million tonnes and 268 vessel calls, positioning the Santa Catarina terminal for a potential annual record above 7 million tonnes if the pace continues. October marked the best month in its history, with 714,700 tonnes handled and more than 406,000 tonnes imported — the highest monthly import volume ever. Year-to-date results show exports at 2.53 million tonnes, imports at 2.86 million tonnes (up 2.5% from 2024), and cabotage rising 3.8%, while containers represent 17.3% of total throughput. Authorities attribute the growth to infrastructure modernization, including dredging, berth expansion and digitalization, reinforcing the port’s strategic role in regional logistics and competitiveness.
