Containerized cargo saw the strongest growth, rising 9.93% to 3.2 million tons, indicating increased flow of industrialized goods. Key performers included the public Port of Vila do Conde (5.5 million tons) and the private Hermasa Grain Terminal, which surged 43.9%. Soybean handling grew 83.5% to 5.6 million tons; oil products rose 5.6% (3.4 million). Inland navigation volume reached 30.3 million tons, reinforcing the waterway sector’s strategic role in the region’s economy.
