Minas Gerais’ Gross Agricultural Production Value (GVP) is projected to reach a record R$168.6 billion in 2025, up 14.2% from 2024, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture. The crop sector will drive this growth, rising 17.6% to R$113.8 billion and accounting for two-thirds of the state’s agricultural income. Coffee is the main highlight, with a 48.2% jump to R$59.2 billion, followed by soybeans at R$18.5 billion (+10%) and corn at R$7.9 billion (+19.9%). Some crops, such as sugarcane, beans, and potatoes, are expected to decline. The livestock sector should grow 7.6%, reaching R$54.9 billion.
