In the first nine months of 2025, São Paulo’s agribusiness achieved a trade surplus of US$16.81 billion, with exports of US$21.15 billion and imports of US$4.34 billion, representing 40.3% of the state’s total exports. The main export sectors were sugar and alcohol (29.9%), meat (14.9%), forestry products (10.5%), juices (10.2%), soy complex (9.9%), and coffee (6.4%). Coffee and meat exports rose significantly, while sugar, forestry, and soy declined. China remained the top destination (24.2%), followed by the EU (14.4%) and the U.S. (12.7%). Exports to the U.S. grew 13% before a 50% tariff hike in August caused sharp declines, especially in meat, coffee, and forestry products, though some volumes were redirected to China, Mexico, and Argentina. São Paulo ranked second nationally, with 16.7% of Brazil’s agribusiness exports.
