SÃO SEBASTIÃO PORT TO OPEN NEW TRUCK STAGING YARD IN CARAGUATATUBA TO CUT WAITING TIMES

The São Sebastião Dock Company (CDSS) has accredited the first truck staging yard, the Serramar Staging Center, to organize arrivals at the Port of São Sebastião. Located in Caraguatatuba’s Pontal de Santa Marina district, the facility will open by the end of October and can hold up to 150 vehicles. All trucks entering the port must pass through the site, which will manage scheduling, reduce congestion, and cut emissions. The yard includes restrooms, a cafeteria, and rest areas for drivers, with CDSS overseeing compliance. According to port president Ernesto Sampaio, the initiative will improve logistics predictability, driver comfort, and environmental performance. The measure supports the port’s modernization and sustainability plans, ahead of a 2026 expansion that will boost capacity to 4.3 million tonnes per year.
