PORTO PIAUÍ SIGNS R$100 MLN CARGO OPERATIONS DEAL WITH CNAGA

Piauí Governor Rafael Fonteles signed an agreement in São Paulo with Cnaga, a logistics and bonded terminals company, to operate the general cargo and container terminal at Porto Piauí, with projected private investment of R$100 million. The deal, led by businessman José Américo, aims to turn Piauí’s coastline into a key national logistics hub, reinforcing the state’s economic development. Cnaga will manage the arrival of diverse cargo, including containers and heavy goods, as well as construct and operate warehouses to support the multipurpose quay, already completed within the port. Current works focus on urbanizing the quay’s back area, where Cnaga will operate, while Porto Piauí already counts on an administrative structure, container yard, dredged channel, and expansion plans for bulk terminals. Fonteles emphasized Cnaga’s credibility and noted that the partnership will position Piauí as a benchmark in logistics efficiency for imports and exports.
