PORT OF IMBITUBA HANDLES OVER 5 MILLION TONNES THROUGH AUGUST 2025

The Port of Imbituba handled 5.12 million tonnes of cargo from January to August 2025, with 216 ships docking, keeping it among Santa Catarina’s main logistics hubs. Exports totaled 1.97 million tonnes, led by calcined coke, non-calcined coke, and corn meal, while imports reached 2.14 million tonnes, driven by coal, salt, and industrial inputs. Solid bulk accounted for 76% of operations, but containerized cargo also grew, surpassing 890,000 tonnes. Cabotage and transshipment complemented flows, and total trade exceeded US$1.13 billion. With ongoing investments in dredging, quay expansion, and digitalization, the port expects to surpass 7 million tonnes by year-end. The expansion has boosted jobs, logistics, and services in the region.
