Manaus led Brazilian municipalities in imports from January to August 2025, reaching US$10.93 billion, driven mainly by inputs for the Manaus Industrial Hub (PIM), according to Sedecti data. The city surpassed Itajaí (SC) and São Paulo (SP), reflecting the strength of the Free Trade Zone model and the role of imports in sustaining local production. Integrated circuits and electronic microassemblies were the top import item, totaling US$1.83 billion, later incorporated into TVs, phones, motorcycles, and computer equipment for the domestic market. This cycle boosts jobs, innovation, competitiveness, and tax revenue, placing Manaus ahead of traditional import hubs in the South and Southeast.
