NEW CEDRO PLANT INAUGURATED IN PARANAÍBA (MS) WITH 53 M-LITERS ETHANOL CAPACITY

Pedra Agroindustrial opened its fourth sugar-energy facility, the Cedro Plant, in Paranaíba, Mato Grosso do Sul on Friday (12). The new facility, located on the site of the former Orbi Bioenergia Plant in the Vila Raimundo region, was authorized by the ANP in August and has now begun operations. During its initial harvest, it is expected to process 614.2 thousand tons of sugarcane, producing 53.2 million liters of hydrous ethanol, enough to run 70,000 vehicles for a year, and generating 38.6 thousand MWh of electricity through cogeneration. The project has created around 1,200 direct and indirect jobs, significantly benefiting the local economy and infrastructure. This inauguration strengthens Mato Grosso do Sul’s status as a key national bioenergy center, a state already home to 22 plants that produced 4.2 billion liters of ethanol in the last harvest.
