2020/21 SOYBEAN CROP TO GROW BY 6%

According to the most recent estimates of DATAGRO Grains, the Brazilian soybean in the 2020/21 crop-year has the potential to reach up to 6%, with 134.98 million tons, and a planted area of 38.79 million hectares, which represents an increase of 3%. The chief-analyst of DATAGRO, França Júnior, points out that farmers are encouraged to increase the planted area due to some factors, such as the rising prices, profit rates, credit supply, strong internal and external demand, etc. The 2020/21 summer crop of corn in Brazil’s Center-South region is expected to reach 27.33 million tons, an increase of 5%. The planted area should be around 4.43 million hectares, up 2%. Regarding the second 2020/21 crop, production should reach 86.71 million tons, representing an increase of 8%. The planted area is expected to reach 15.35 million hectares, up 5%. Given these projections, the total area in the 2020/21 crop is expected to reach 19.77 million hectares, an increase of 4%. Production has the potential to reach up to 7%, which represents 114.04 million tons.
