According to a survey conducted by Safras & Mercado, on December 20, Brazil has planted 98.9% of the expected area for the 2024–2025 harvest. The figures show a significant improvement in oilseed sowing over prior years and are higher than the period’s historical average, of 96.3%. The index was 97.9% the week before, therefore the planting process has proven effective. This 1% increase in just seven days shows that the operations have been carried out more favorably due to good weather and production logistics. The 2024-2025 planting is ahead of schedule when compared to the same period of the previous harvest since only 97% of the acreage had been sown by the same period in 2023.
