The Itaqui Port in Maranhão saw a 6% increase in cargo movement from January to September 2023 compared to the same period the previous year, reaching 27.5 million tons. Corn shipments in September reached 1.4 million tons, surpassing the previous record of 1.3 million tons in September 2022. The growth in cargo movement was driven by solid bulk, liquid bulk, and general cargo. Solid bulk accounted for 19.8 million tons, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous year, while liquid bulk reached 6.5 million tons during the period. In September, general cargo registered 3.52 million tons.
