Orange juice exports grew in the first months of the 2022/2023 season in Brazil. According to Secex, Brazil shipped 175.9 thousand tons of the commodity in July and August 2022, an increase of 8% when compared to the same months last year. As for the domestic market, the 2022/23 orange production, in the state of São Paulo and the Triângulo Mineiro, is likely to total 314.09 million boxes of 40.8 kg, according to Fundecitrus (Citriculture Defense Fund). This represents a 0.9% dip when compared to May, but a recovery of 19.4% if compared to the 2021/22 season. Despite the positive performance, the higher production will not be able to generate surpluses due to the high industrial demand and the low juice stocks.
