Brazil’s need to import gasoline may increase in 2025, given a projected recovery in consumption. According to the StoneX market intelligence analyst Isabela Garcia, the expectation is that demand for gasoline will grow again in 2025 as the fuel regains competitiveness at gas stations, with StoneX estimating a 3.4% increase in fossil fuel consumption. However, Garcia points out that imports could eventually be affected by a potential increase in the anhydrous ethanol mix in C gasoline to 30% , yet to be defined by authorities. In 2024, Brazil’s gasoline imports fell 30.7% compared to the previous year, to 2.87 billion liters.
