SOYBEAN HARVEST ADVANCES IN BRAZIL

Brazil’s soybean harvest in the 2023-24 crop year surpassed 2% of the estimated area, above the prior year’s average. According to AgRural consulting, the yield reached 2.3%, with Mato Grosso leading, followed by Paraná, Rondônia, and Mato Grosso do Sul. Total soybean production has been revised downward and is now projected at 150.1 million tons. According to Safras & Mercado, a consultancy business, the harvest is at 2.1% of the total area and began earlier than the previous year. AgRural expects that winter corn planting will cover 0.4% of the expected area. Summer corn yields reached 5.1%. Total corn production is expected to reach 114.1 million tons.
