CENTER-SOUTH SHOULD CRUSH ABOUT 645 MILLION TONS OF SUGARCANE BY MARCH-24

The Center-South region is about to produce 41.6 Mt of sugar, beating previous estimates by 1.1 Mt. This is owing to increased sugarcane availability this season, which has set a promising tone for the upcoming 24-25 season’s output potential, which is expected to surpass 43 million tons if weather conditions are right. With sugarcane productivity staying over 89 t/ha in October, total raw material availability can be projected at 655 Mt – or possibly higher. The only thing that has hampered the plants is the weather, which has become more intense as the region approaches summer. Taking additional two or three strong fortnights into consideration, the area is predicted to crush around 645 Mt by the end of March.
