Fertilizer deliveries to the Brazilian market in 2022 fully met the market, despite a decline of 10.4% from 2021 to 2022 due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. Deliveries totaled 41.07 million tons in 2022 as opposed to 45.85 million tons in 2021. “Our country imports 85% of the total it consumes,” claims Ricardo Tortorella, executive director of the National Fertilizer Diffusion Association (ANDA). By December 2022, Brazil’s production of intermediate fertilizers had declined by 13.3%. From January to December 2022, total production was 7.45 million tons, with a growth of 3.3% compared to the same period in 2021, when 7.21 million tons were manufactured.
